Meridian Energy today confirmed its CEO of Meridian Energy Australia and Powershop Australia, Jason Stein will step down from his role. Due to the ongoing impacts of Covid on travel and personal arrangements, Mr Stein has been unable to relocate with his family from New Zealand to Australia, and so will step down from his position.
Meridian’s Chief Executive Neal Barclay said Jason Stein’s achievements have been notable during his tenure.
“Jason has managed our Australian business remotely during a turbulent time and we thank him for successfully supporting the Melbourne team during some extensive lockdown periods.”
“Under Jason’s leadership Powershop Australia has significantly increased Australia customer numbers and has refreshed its Australian renewables strategy. This work has set a solid foundation for future growth in Australia,” adds Barclay.
Management will now seek to commence a recruitment process. Jason will continue until mid-2021 to allow an orderly transition of accountabilities for Meridian’s Australian business.
