Ryman Healthcare is to build its 25th retirement village in Waikanae, north of Wellington.
The $100 million village, on a 6.9ha site, would be home to more than 400 residents, Ryman said today.
It would include independent townhouses, serviced apartments, village centre, and a resthome with hospital and dementia care services.
Ryman owns 22 villages, is opening a new village in Dunedin this month, and has fast-tracked plans to build a new village in northeast Christchurch to meet needs arising from the earthquake.
