10th January 2022 Morning Report

U.S. stock markets ended lower on Friday as the treasury yield settled at 1.767%, a 12-month high.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed - 0.01%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.41% and 0.96%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed mixed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.47%), the Dax 30 (-0.65%), CAC 40 (-0.42%) and the STOXX (-0.44%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.03%), HSI (+1.82%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.18%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.767%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.87%. Oil was up to $81.75 per barrel, down 0.29%. The gold price was at US$1796.41 per ounce, up 0.27%.
