The Nasdaq closed a record-high on Tuesday, lifted by Micron Technology and other AI-related stocks, while the S&P 500 hovered just below a record high as oil prices traded around $100 per barrel.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.36%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.02% and up 0.45% respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.29%), the Dax 30 (+0.02%), CAC 40 (+0.20%) and the STOXX (+0.10%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.38%), HSI (+0.18%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.056%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.955%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.747%. Oil was down to $89.87 per barrel, down 2.71%. The gold price was at US$4396.57 per ounce, up 0.29%.
