30th June 2022 Morning Report

US markets closed slightly lower on Wednesday as investors staggered toward the finish line of the worst first half for the market benchmark index since 1974. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.27%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.07% and 0.03% respectively.

Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.15%), the Dax 30 (-1.73%), CAC 40 (-0.90%) and the STOXX (-0.99%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed mixed. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.91%), HSI (-1.88%) and the Shanghai Composite (-1.40%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.087%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.043%. Oil was up to $115.8 per barrel, down 1.86%. The gold price was at US$1818 per ounce, down 0.03%.
