GeoOp, whose software allows mobile businesses such as builders to manage their workforce, named Ben Foote as chief executive, replacing Leanne Graham, who resigned in September to take a new role leading the company’s push into the US.

Foote, a New Zealander based in Sydney, has more than 14 years of experience in the technology sector as well as marketing and general management, the Auckland based company said in a statement. He will start at the end of the 2015 first quarter, the company said.

GeoOp last month said its first half loss widened to $2.7 million from $1.6 million a year earlier even though its revenue surged 206 percent, as it foregoes short term profitability in a bid to capture market share in the growing reliance on smart phones, where its app can help small and medium sized enterprises manage remote workforces.

The company raised $10 million at $1 a share in a private offer before listing on the NZAX in October 2013. The shares last traded at 65 cents, and have surged 76 percent so far this year.
