The US markets closed a choppy session nearly unchanged on Monday, weighed down by megacaps as investors awaited several catalysts including key economic data and earnings from some of the largest US companies.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.28%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.10% and 0.06% respectively.
Other key markets ended higher. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.02%), the Dax 30 (+0.13%), CAC 40 (+0.50%) and the STOXX (+0.32%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.38%), HSI (-0.04%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.20%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.206%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.693%. Oil was up to $63.02 per barrel, down 1.76%. The gold price was at US$3355.02 per ounce, up 1.72%.
