Contact Energy customer numbers fall in December

Contact Energy had 464,000 electricity customers at the end of December, which is down from 467,000 in November and 478,000 in December 2009.

The number of gas customers fell to 61,500 in December from 62,000 in November and 64,500 in December 2009.

The figures were in the company's December operational data release, which showed North Island hydro storage levels at 165% of mean and South Island at 120% of mean.
