Fisher & Paykel Finance appoints two directors

Fisher & Paykel Financehas appointed Carlos da Silva and Hugh Rennie QC (pictured) as independent directors to met new non-bank deposit taker regulations.

Carlos da Silva is the current executive chairman of Greenlea Group and a former partner in Deloitte with over 25 years experience predominantly advising and engaging boards and chief executives.

His professional career focus has centred on corporate finance, corporate and trust structuring, and strategic advice to medium and large-sized companies.

Rennie QC is currently in practice as a barrister in commercial and public law.

He has previously served as a chairman and director of a number of companies and trusts. He was a director of Fletcher Challenge, a director of BNZ Finance, and for 13 years a director of BNZ. He is currently a board member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and chairs its Audit and Risk Committee.

Fisher & Paykel Finance says both these new appointees bring solid experience and sound corporate governance skills and expertise to the board of Fisher & Paykel Finance, adding further strength and guidance to the continuing success and ongoing development of the business.

Fisher & Paykel Finance managing director Alastair Macfarlane says the management look forward to the participation and engagement of these new independent directors to support the future strategic growth, development, and ongoing strengthening position of the Fisher & Paykel Finance business within the finance industry sector.
