Accident Compensation Corp named Scott Pickering, an executive at NYSE-listed insurance broker Willis Group Holdings, as its new chief executive.
Pickering, a kiwi who has worked abroad for much of the past 22 years, will start on May 1, taking over from acting CEO David May, who has been at the helm since Ralph Stewart departed in December.
He has been regional CEO at Willis International, responsible for central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in Johannesburg since 2010.
Pickering "shares the board's vision of restoring public trust and confidence in ACC through transforming the business model to improve the quality of service delivery to clients," said ACC chairwoman Paula Rebstock.
