New Zealand Experience reported a 76.6% lift in half year net profit to $1 million, mainly due to growth in visitor numbers at its Rainbow's End Theme Park.
During the six months to the end of December, Rainbow's End had 168,000 visitors, an increase of 24,000 or 17% from a year earlier, NZ Experience said today.
Revenue rose 19.4% to $5.8 million for the half year, reflecting the value of greater visitor numbers and an increased level of spending.
NZ Experience said the first half result was above its targets, while business during the busy January trading period had been in line with expectations.
As a result it had lifted its expectation of full year after tax profit to a range between $1.5 million and $1.7 million, having previously been expecting a result between $1.3 million and $1.5 million.
