8th February 2022 Morning Report

U.S. market higher on Monday as U.S. Treasury yields hit 2-year highs. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.48%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.48% and 0.22%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended higher. European stocks closed lower as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.76%), the Dax 30 (+0.71%), CAC 40 (+0.83%) and the STOXX (+0.83%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-0.70%), HSI (+0.03%) and the Shanghai Composite (+2.03%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.91%, while the 2 - year note was at 1.296%. Oil was down to $92.75 per barrel, down -0.56%. The gold price was at US$1821.40 per ounce, up 0.74%.
