The US market closed lower on Monday, with each of the three major indexes coming off a third straight week of gains, as renewed US-Iran tensions put the durability of a two-week ceasefire in question.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.01%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.24% and 0.26% respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.55%), the Dax 30 (-1.15%), CAC 40 (-1.12%) and the STOXX (-1.24%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.60%), HSI (+0.77%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.76%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.254%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.725%. Oil was down to $86.44 per barrel, up 4.66%. The gold price was at US$4838.99 per ounce, down 0.83%.
