Westfield New Zealand third-quarter sales rise 0.8%

Retail store sales in Westfield Retail Trust malls in New Zealand rose 0.8 percent in the three months to Sept. 30 from the same period a year ago.

The trust has 12 malls in New Zealand with a total of 1,715 retail outlets. Its portfolio across New Zealand and Australia is 99.5 percent leased.

Annual retail sales of $NZ2.2 billion were achieved on a rolling 12 months basis.

Sales of all store types were up 0.8 percent in the three months from the same period a year ago. Sales at major stores in New Zealand malls rose 2.6 percent from a year ago. Sales at mini-major stores rose 1.8 percent and sales at specialty stores were flat.
