Well, I hate to point out the obvious, but if they are not in a shopping 
mall, then how do they get FOOT traffic?
As for the weekly mailers, they go straight in the bin.  Do you have any 
idea of how much crap comes through your mailbox here, who has time to read 
any of it.
And finally, it IS standard to advertise locations when you are a major 
chain with suburban locations, that operate on a standalone basis rather 
than in the malls.  All major electrical, homeware, furniture, lighting, and 
hardware stores advertise their locations in TV ads.  I suggest the WHS guy 
needs to spend a bit of time watching Australian tv to get a few clues.

At the end of the day, the effect of advertising must be to get people into 
their cars and driving out in search of the store, and to spend money.  The 
WHS advertising is obviously not achieving this or their sales figures would 
be better!
