October 6th Morning Report

Us market closed higher on Wednesday after data showed US labor demand remained strong and as Federal Reserve officials stuck to their hawkish message that interest rates will stay higher for longer. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.27%. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.20% and 0.07% respectively.

In Europe key markets ended lower. The FTSE100 was down 0.48% , while the DAX30 was down 1.21% and the CAC40 was down 0.90%, the STOXX600 was down 1.05%. 

 Asian markets ended mixed. The Shanghai Composite (-0.55%) was down, while the Nikkei 225 (+0.48%) and South Korea’s KOSPI (+0.26%) and the Hong Kong Hang Seng (+5.90%) were up.
