The Financial Markets Authority and the Serious Fraud Office have launched an investigation against a company called Hansa Limited and Paul Clifford Hibbs.
Companies Office records show Hibbs is a director of Hansa and lives in Christchurch. The company was founded in March 2005 and last filed accounts in August 2015.
In a statement, the FMA said that anyone who had been in contact with Hibbs or Hansa in relation to the offer of financial advice, investment services or other form of financial product or service should get in touch.
In a 2010 High Court judgement relating to Cabellos Holdings in which Hibbs is a director and which was in receivership between 2007 and 2013, Hibbs was described as an investment manager and the director of a private investment company through which wealthy investors participated in business ventures.
