Southern Travel announces new directors

Southern Travel has announced that John King and David Lock have been elected as directors following the retirement of Richard Fyers and Terry Nicholas.

John King is based in Sydney and is the managing director of Global Tourism & Leisure and chairman of the Australian Tourism Export Council.

He has a 37 year history in international tourism marketing and management and has held a number of senior positions within tourism companies and agencies across the world.

David Lock is based in Auckland and is a director of New Zealand Experience, a chartered accountant and has a background in financial, legal, taxation and commercial matters.

Southern Travel chairman Rodney Walshe said new appointments would contribute significantly to the growth and improved profitability of the company.
