ASX-listed telecommunications software company, Telemedia, has notched up another sale in the United States.

The deal is to provide an enhanced switching platform to a Dallas-based local exchange carrier called AccuTel, and is part of what the company describes as its "aggressive entry into the US market".

The new sale follows one made with US OnePoint Communications last month.

Telemedia chief executive Chris Jones says the agreement with AccuTel is the result of his company's greater push into the multi-billion dollar US and European markets.

"This latest contract for Telemedia is further evidence of the global appeal of our Australasian-designed system."

He says AccuTel is one of the USA's fastest growing competitive local exchange carriers, currently serving 50,000 customers within the state of Texas. Aggressive expansion plans for AccuTel include making its products available in several other strategic US states.

"By using Telemedia software, AccuTel will be able to provide more diverse services to their customer base, and bring new products and services to their markets in a shorter time frame."
