Marsden Maritime Holdings Ltd has appointed Rosie Mercer chief executive officer, effective 1 July 2022.
“I am thrilled that Rosie will be taking up this important role as we play our part in transforming Northland’s economy,” said chairman Murray Jagger. “Rosie and the Board are committed to delivering on our vision and serving our customers and stakeholders well.”
Rosie has many years of experience in management, leadership and civil engineering roles both within New Zealand and internationally. She joins Marsden Maritime Holdings after nine years with Ports of Auckland, where her most recent role was general manager sustainability.
Rosie is delighted to be joining MMH and moving to Northland.
“I am excited about the future potential of MMH and the enormous opportunities it provides in contributing to Northland’s economy,” she said.
About Rosie Mercer
Holds a BE(Hons) (Civil), MEngNZ and is a member of the Institute of Directors.
She was appointed general manager of sustainability at Ports of Auckland in April 2019 and has nine years of experience in management, leadership and engineering.
Rosie was a member and deputy chair of the Provincial Growth Fund Independent Advisory Panel from 2018 until March 2021. She served in the NZ Army in Afghanistan in 2009 and 2010 as an engineer officer for the Provincial Reconstruction Team.
She is an experienced executive manager and engineer with governance experience across the supply chain and port related business. She understands well the inter-dependencies between local and central government and the private sector and the importance of partnering with mana whenua, iwi and hapu.
