On 6 October 2021, The a2 Milk Company Limited (“the Company”) announced it had been notified that group proceedings had been filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria by Slater & Gordon Lawyers, which named the Company as the defendant.

On 21 October 2021, the Company announced that it was aware of reports in the media that a potential class action against the Company was being investigated by Shine Lawyers.

Today the Company was served with a representative proceeding filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria by Shine Lawyers, which names the Company as the defendant. The proceeding relates to the period from 19 August 2020 to 9 May 2021 and makes allegations which are broadly similar to those advanced by the class action proceeding filed by Slater and Gordon Lawyers on 6 October 2021.

The Company considers that it has at all times complied with its disclosure obligations, denies any liability and will vigorously defend the proceedings.
