Air New Zealand carried 9.9% more passengers in the month of December than a year ago, according to its latest operation update which shows strong passenger numbers in short haul and in domestic markets.
Overall, the airline carried 1.32 million passengers during the month of December. Revenue passenger kilometres rose 7.7% and capacity, or available seat kilometres, rose 6.2%. The group load factor increased by 1.3 percentage points.
In December, 78.9% of its domestic flights departed within 10 minutes of scheduled departure time.
Short haul passenger numbers were up 10.9% on December last year, while long haul passenger numbers rose 4%.
