October 3rd Morning Report

Us market closed lower on Friday, as inflation and recessionary fears continued to loom over the US economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.71%. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.51% and 1.51% respectively.

In Europe key markets ended higher. The FTSE100 was 0.18% up, while the DAX30 was up 1.16% and the CAC40 was up 1.51%, the STOXX600 was up 1.19%. 

 Asian markets ended Thursday mixed. the Singapore STI (+0.49%) and the Hong Kong Hang Seng (+0.33%) were up, while the Nikkei 225 (-1.84%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.55%) and South Korea’s KOSPI (-0.71%) were all down.
