Recruitment firm OCG Consulting Group has launched a service aimed at helping employers find executive contractors, in a direct response to emerging competition from Seek and networking sites.
OCG Consulting today said its Contractors24seven service reflected a shift towards online executive contract recruitment.
It believed online job boards, professional and social networking sites were making a clear play for the estimated $450 million New Zealand companies would invest in executive contractors this year.
OCG Consulting chief executive George Brooks said his company was not prepared to sit back and watch as Seek and networking sites, which the recruitment industry helped fund, began to cannibalise its sponsors' business.
"We're proud to be first to market, but we're also conscious that the recruitment industry needs to be working together to address this challenge. It's been the elephant in the room that no one has been prepared to address, but no more," Brooks said.
