Telecom is ringing in the changes ahead of its structural separation, directing head of wholesale Nick Clarke to report to Chorus chief executive Mark Ratcliffe.
Telecom chief executive Paul Reynolds said the move comes as Telecom aligns its units to be carved out in a demerger, a move promised as part of its successful bid to take part in Government plans for a national broadband network.
"These changes will improve the ability of our people in Chorus and Telecom Wholesale to better deliver for our customers at a critical period of change," he said.
Telecom is waiting for Parliament to pass legislation for structural separation and has to obtain shareholder approval for the division into a telecommunications retailer and a broadband network company.
Reynolds said the change in structure would "provide a more seamless service for wholesale customers and allow the teams to collaborate more effectively to deliver on the rural broadband initiative and ultra-fast broadband commitments."
