Mobile company 2degrees says it is planning to spend more than $100 million on its network during the next two years.
Chief executive Eric Hertz said the move would mean the network met the growing demands of smartphone and data device users.
The network investment, to be carried out with company Huawei, would bring total investment in 2degrees to more than $400 million.
The company would also open another 30 retail stores in 2011 and create 80 new jobs in a new Christchurch-based contact centre.
