Thursday 6th June 2024

Text too small?

Meridian Energy has today issued New Zealand Aluminium Smelters Limited (NZAS) with a demand response notice under the NZAS Demand Response Agreement 2023-2024.

As a result, contract quantity under the electricity agreement between Meridian and NZAS will reduce by 25 MWh per half hour from 22 June 2024 until 20 August 2024, unless Meridian advises NZAS otherwise.

Meridian has issued the notice to help manage South Island hydro storage levels.

A copy of the demand response agreement is available on Meridian’s website.
