Kiwifruit and avocado company Satara Cooperative Group has appointed Tom Wilson as managing director, after he filled the role on an interim basis for eight months.
Since taking up the interim position last May, Wilson had focused on re-engineering the company's business activities and identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities, Satara said today.
It had been decided it was in the best interests of Satara to maintain the consistent level of management discipline and momentum Wilson had bought to the company.
That decision came with the impact of bacterial kiwifruit vine disease Psa under a higher level of management, and following the announcement last month that Satara's proposed merger with EastPack had been cancelled.
