The New Zealand Exchange (NZX) said trading on the NZSX, the main stock exchange, as well as its NZAX and NZDX markets would begin at 1.30pm today after a technical problem cloed them this morning.

The markets did not open this morning after share registrar Computershare said it was experiencing problems with its share registry system.

"NZX is satisfied that the difficulties experienced by Computershare Investor Services Ltd have been resolved," NZX said in a statement.

A pre-opening session was to begin at 1pm, with normal trading beginning half an hour later. The markets would close at their normal times the NZX said.
