Veda Advantage Managing Director John Roberts has been appointed to the Board of the Motu Research and Education Foundation, a charitable foundation supporting New Zealand economic and public policy research. The Motu Foundation is linked to leading non-profit research institute Motu Economic and Public Policy Research.

Roberts will take a strong business background to the Board as managing director of the country's leading credit bureau and with an international career in communications, marketing and the financial sector spanning 25 years.

He is delighted to join the Motu Foundation Board saying its independence and dedication to high quality research attracted him to the position.

"Motu is committed to New Zealand and wants to ensure there is world class research available on relevant issues to inform public debate," Roberts says.

"I share Motu's commitment to New Zealand and to improving decision-making through evidence-based research."

Roberts observes that it is only through decision-makers, researchers, the business community and the New Zealand public working together that the country's economic outlook can improve.

Motu Foundation chair, Neil Green said "The Foundation is delighted John is joining the Board. We know the integrity of Motu's independent economic research work is highly valued in the Auckland region. We believe John's appointment will be a valuable step in assisting the Foundation to attract a wider group of Patrons to support its work."
