Heartland Group has appointed Myles Perry as acting chief financial officer while the bank and financial services company “will continue to consider its longer term requirements.”
Perry’s appointment follows the announcement on Dec. 21 that David Mackrell, the CFO for the last two years, will resign to join NZME, publisher of the New Zealand Herald, from the end of March.
“David will remain at Heartland for a transitional period to facilitate a smooth handover,” Heartland says in a statement to NZX.
Perry had headed Heartland’s internal audit team since August 2017 and before that held senior management roles at Air New Zealand for 10 years.
“Myles is a very experienced senior finance professional with strong leadership skills and we congratulate Myles on his appointment,” Heartland says.
Mackrell had also left Air New Zealand after a 25-year career there to join Heartland.
