The US market closed at a new record high on Wednesday, its first since the US-Iran conflict began, as hopes of a de-escalation in the war and robust earnings expectations drew investors back into risk assets.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.15%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.80% and 1.60% respectively.

Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.47%), the Dax 30 (+0.09%), CAC 40 (-0.64%) and the STOXX (-0.74%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+0.44%), HSI (+0.29%) and the Shanghai Composite (+0.015%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.281%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.761%. Oil was up to $91.43 per barrel, up 0.16%. The gold price was at US$4812.26 per ounce, down 0.78%.
