15th February 2022 Morning Report

US market closed lower on Monday as Russia-Ukraine tensions continued. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 0.93%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.82% and 0.33%, respectively. 

Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-1.69%), the Dax 30 (-2.02%), CAC 40 (-2.27%) and the STOXX (-2.18%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended lower. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-2.23%), HSI (-1.41%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.98%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.98%, while the 2 - year note was at 1.583%. Oil was down to $96.18 per barrel, up 1.84%. The gold price was at US$1868.41 per ounce, up 0.54%.
