Australian employment services group Manpower surveyed 865 employers across New Zealand and found the New Zealand employment market continued to be "resilient".
The net employment outlook for the October-December quarter of 2007 was +26%, compared to +24% in the previous quarter. Nearly one in three employers expected to add to employees between October and December, the survey found.
Manpower managing director Scott McLachlan described New Zealand's employment outlook as "encouraging".
"The ongoing strength in hiring intentions indicate that hiring managers are still feeling confident about taking on new staff over the next quarter," he said.
Adjusted data showed employers in all three regions surveyed expect to take on more staff over the next three months.
Employers in Auckland were the most optimistic (+32%) about adding staff, followed by Wellington (+27%) and Christchurch (+21%).
