Contact Energy Limited (Contact) (NZX/ASX:CEN) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the bookbuild for the fully underwritten NZ$450 million placement (Placement) of ordinary shares as part of its NZ$525 million equity raise (Equity Raise) announced on 16 February 2026.
The Placement was strongly supported by existing shareholders and also attracted significant demand from new international institutional investors. All eligible shareholders who bid for at least their pro-rata allocation of the Placement were allocated at least their pro rata amount of new shares, consistent with Contact’s objective of treating shareholders fairly and prioritising existing holders.
Settlement of the Placement is expected to occur on 20 February 2026 for NZX and on 19 February 2026 for ASX. Allotment of new shares issued under the Placement and commencement of trading on the NZX and ASX are expected to occur on 20 February 2026. The new shares will rank equally in all respects with Contact’s existing ordinary shares.
Retail Offer
As announced on 16 February 2026, Contact is also undertaking a non-underwritten retail offer (Retail Offer) to raise up to NZ$75 million, with the ability to accept oversubscriptions at Contact’s discretion.
A Retail Offer document will be available online at www.contactshareoffer.co.nz from the opening of the Retail Offer on 19 February. All eligible shareholders are encouraged to visit that website and read all of the materials available or referred to on it (including the offer document, investor presentation and market announcement published by Contact on 16 February 2026) before making a decision whether to apply online. Eligible shareholders who wish to participate in the Retail Offer should apply online from 19 February 2026.
Key dates for the Retail Offer are set out in the Appendix to this announcement.
