What is actually happening is that somebody (actually, people) 
receiving list postings have been infected and the virus/worm is 
dispatching itself to people whose addresses are found in postings to 
the list.

If you're using a PC running Microsoft software then be warned - you 
are particularly prone to viruii/worms and you need some protection.
