I am not criticising TA.  I use it occasionally and agree with its ability 
to pick when to get in, and out, of stocks.  I trust the system (whichever 
indicator one uses). 

What I find incredulous is the fact that you did maintain that your 
indicators picked an earthquake.  I am sorry, that is not possible. 

Indicators effectively show market action.  If your indicators picked the 
earthquake then the market also knew about the earthquake before it 
occurred.  If that is true, then why didn't anyone warn everyone about it? 

If your indicators told you to sell just days before a major event 
(earthquake) then that is freaky; it is not technical analysis.
