It is possible to put a virus scanner in at our end, but there's really no
point. Protecting yourself from viruses in email is quite simple: never,
ever, run executables mailed to you. Not even if the mail seems to be from
someone you know - as the case with Happy99, that doesn't mean that the
person sent it to you themselves.

Running a virus scanner isn't a complete solution, because the executables
could still be trojans of some kind (for example, it could be something
specifically targetted at you, rather than a virus spreading itself in the
wild). Virus scanners can only protect against the viruses they know, so
you still have to be careful not to run programs emailed to you..
