Monthly games as well as a year long, Stock Guru 2006 title is on offer.
The site will also be monitoring the performance of leading brokers' stock picks for the year.
"The Stock Guru game provides a risk free platform for those who are new to sharemarket investing and enables them to test the water while at the same time becoming more familiar with the listed companies on the NZX," says Sharechat's website manager, Vicky Powell.
Significant prizes are on offer and the first 100 players to enter the year long game receive a free years subscription to a recently launched sharemarket analysis software called What Business. Players can utilise this tool to research their stock selections.
"ShareChat is committed to providing New Zealanders with opportunities to increase their investor education and with the support of with our prize sponsors, we are on track to fulfil that goal," says Powell.
Entry is free and players are encouraged to share their selection strategies in the ShareChat forum. Registration for the year- long game close on 6th February.
