ACC picks model for online training

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) has launched nationwide online training for its 2200 staff.

E-learning manager Deborah Ebbett said the Crown entity had chosen Click2learn's Aspen Enterprise Productivity suite to manage, track and deliver training at its 40 branches and service centres.

She claimed the decision to buy the system marked ACC's first step to provide online training programmes.

"This is pivotal for training in legislation and to meet compliance obligations," she said.

"ACC services a broad range of stakeholders and communities with complex needs. Incorporating e-learning as part of our organisation's learning strategy will help increase the skills and capabilities of our staff while ensuring these diverse stakeholders get the best possible customer service."

The programme would also match the pace of planned service improvements, she said.

Click2learn Asia Pacific chief executive Con J Kittos said ACC's e-learning plans reflected a maturing market that demanded more from technology than a simple online training delivery tool.

"There is a growing trend among organisations to align e-learning directly with core business objectives, driving both business performance and the organisation's bottom-line profitability."

In addition to consolidating learning for ACC employees nationwide, the solution would help ensure ACC's learning and development-related activities were effectively integrated and managed, he claimed.
