The US market closed mixed on Thursday, as Nvidia and other technology stocks dipped, while defense companies advanced after President Donald Trump called for an enlarged $1.5 trillion military budget.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.50%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were down 0.08% and 0.63% respectively.
Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (-0.04%), the Dax 30 (+0.02%), CAC 40 (+0.12%) and the STOXX (-0.32%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(-1.63%), HSI (-1.17%) and the Shanghai Composite (+1.50%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.183%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.49%. Oil was down to $58.23 per barrel, up 4.00%. The gold price was at US$4460.34 per ounce, down 0.05%.
