US markets closed higher on Monday and notched its longest winning streak in six years as investors bet on sectors beyond technology in a week filled with earnings reports and a Federal Reserve meeting. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.52%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.40% and up 0.19% respectively. 

Other key markets ended mixed. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.19%), the Dax 30 (+0.08%), CAC 40 (-0.07%) and the STOXX (-0.19%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed lower. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.23%), HSI (-2.13%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.11%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 3.878%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.926%. Oil was up to $78.90 per barrel, up 2.37%. The gold price was at US$1956.60 per ounce, down 0.51%.
