Greg Campbell has been appointed to the board of Ryman Healthcare. Mr Campbell is an experienced chief executive and board director, with more than 25 years’ experience leading large organisations. He is currently CEO at fertiliser cooperative Ravensdown in Christchurch but has signalled his intention to stand down in May to take up a fulltime career in governance. Mr Campbell’s association with Ryman began more than a decade ago when he was CEO of Ngai Tahu Holdings, one of Ryman’s earliest investors.

“I first came across the team at Ryman as a shareholder. Since then I’ve regarded it as a special company with a special purpose - to help people.

“Ryman is also a very positive commercial entity. I am unashamedly supportive of the idea that companies need to be successful in order to reward their shareholders for taking a risk, to reward their employees fairly and to be able to achieve a balanced and sustainable outcome for everyone."

Ryman Healthcare Chairman Dr David Kerr said Mr Campbell was a welcome addition to the board.

“Greg’s a very experienced leader who has achieved great things in large organisations. He knows what it takes to run large companies successfully, and he has a special interest in sustainability and climate change which are important challenges for us. We are looking forward to his contribution in the years to come."

Mr Campbell’s appointment lifts the number of directors on Ryman’s board to nine.
