U.S. stock markets ended higher on Wednesday as the inflation rate reaches its highest level since 1982.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed + 0.02%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.22% and 0.27%, respectively.
Other key markets ended higher. European stocks closed higher as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.81%), the Dax 30 (+0.43%), CAC 40 (0.75%) and the STOXX (+0.81%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices ended higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+1.92%), HSI (+2.79%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.84%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 1.73%, while the 2 - year note was at 0.909%. Oil was up to $84.48 per barrel, up 0.91%. The gold price was at US$1827.74 per ounce, up 0.37%.
