February 10th Morning Report

The US market closed higher on Friday and the S&P 500 ended sharply higher, as Nvidia and other chipmakers soared and Amazon tumbled after the cloud heavyweight forecast a sharp increase.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.08%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.66% and 1.12% respectively.

Other key markets ended higher. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+0.16%), the Dax 30 (-0.07%), CAC 40 (+0.60%) and the STOXX (+1.01%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+3.89%), HSI (+1.76%) and the Shanghai Composite (+1.41%).

The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.20%, while the 2 - year note was at 3.487%. Oil was up to $64.24 per barrel, up 1.09%. The gold price was at US$5100.16 per ounce, up 2.42%.
