The US market closed higher on Friday as investors held out hope for a peace deal between Iran and the United States and as SpaceX shares surged in their debut, making it Wall Street's biggest public listing in history.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.70%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were up 0.50% and 0.31% respectively.
Other key markets ended lower. European stocks closed as follows: the FTSE100 (+1.63%), the Dax 30 (+1.76%), CAC 40 (+0.51%) and the STOXX (+2.16%). In Asia, the Hang Seng and Shanghai indices closed higher. The key Asian indices ended yesterday as follows: Nikkei 225(+2.81%), HSI (+1.93%) and the Shanghai Composite (-0.42%).
The yield on the US 10 - year note was at 4.483%, while the 2 - year note was at 4.087%. Oil was down to $84.88 per barrel, down 3.23%. The gold price was at US$4238.80 per ounce, up 3.03%.
