General Capital, the listed financial services group, today announces the appointment of Anita Killeen as an independent director to the General Capital Board.
Anita Killeen is a Barrister specialising in financial crime and fraud, civil and criminal litigation, and governance and dispute resolution. Ms. Killeen has held a variety of governance roles in the legal, financial, local government, education, health and not for profit sectors including having served as Chair of the Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board, as Chair and National President of Fertility New Zealand, as Deputy Chair of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki Commercial Investment Board, Deputy Chair of NetSafe New Zealand, Independent Director of the Domain Name Commission, and Director of the SPCA Auckland.
She is an alumna of the Auckland University School of Law, the Harvard Business School, the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Institute for Strategic Leadership.
General Capital Chair, Mr. Rewi Bugo says the Board is pleased to welcome Ms. Killeen as a director. “Anita brings a wealth of experience to General Capital, including a strong legal, academic and governance background. Her skillset is a valuable addition to the Board and business” he says.
General Capital’s Board has determined that Ms. Killeen is an independent director.
Her appointment will be effective 1 February 2024.
As required by rule 2.7.1 of the NZX Listing Rules Ms. Killeen will retire at the next Annual Shareholder Meeting and be eligible for re-election.
