Freightways Group Limited (Freightways) announces that Mark Cairns has advised the Board of his intention to resign as a director and Chair of Freightways.

The Board has strong internal candidates to succeed Mark as Chair and Mark intends to remain in his role until the conclusion of the Board Chair succession process.

The Board thanks Mark for his contribution to Freightways over the past five years, particularly his stewardship as Chair over the past four years.

Mark commented:

“It has been a privilege to serve on the Freightways Board over the past five years. Freightways is an outstanding business with a strong culture and a clear strategy for continued growth.

Having considered my future governance commitments, I have decided that the time is right to reduce my workload and devote more time to family business interests. I have great confidence in the company’s future and wish the wider Freightways team every success.”
