Telecommunications companies carve out promising niches

For an industry often said to be in the grip of a worldwide downturn, telecommunications still offers major growth opportunities in specific fragments and niches of the market.

A select few New Zealand companies have recently carved out promising new telecommunications businesses, both in local and offshore markets.

New River interviewed industry insiders to uncover the most exciting companies in the telecommunications sector.

There was no shortage of candidates.

But a handful of names stood out from the rest - and had the business results to justify their presence in The National Business Review's listing of most exciting companies.
