Australian internet betting company, eBet, has finalised its US market launch.

The company says it has successfully completed testing its eBet USA service, and a limited commercial release has been scheduled for September 1.

The service will offer betting on US races to subscribers via internet, web-TV and handheld devices including Palm Pilots.

The company says customers accessing the eBet USA service will be able to establish and fund a betting account with its venture partner, Penn National Gaming , to view race fields, past performance data and live odds feeds and bet live online via a secure interface to Penn's tote system located in Pennsylvania. The service will also link to live Internet race broadcasts offered by Penn and other leading racetracks.

eBet chief executive, Keith Cullen, says he expects the system will attract race betters from across North America and around the globe with its ease of use and security.

"We are extremely excited about our wireless development which includes the ability for customers to bet live via Palm V and Palm VII devices from virtually anywhere in North America".
